{ California Trip } Part Two

There are three reasons we took a trip to California other than to be with my family.  Hailey's Wedding, Mendocino, and Klaus' Baby Blessing.  But let's get real.  Us Hogges eat, sleep, and breathe Mendocino.  It's not that we particularly enjoy camping but it's a chance to be shut off from the world (no service) and bask in each other's company.
------------

My little family and my younger brother, Spencer headed off to Mendocino Sunday morning after Klaus' middle of the night feeding.  So 4 o'clock and we were on the road.  The rest of my family had gone up the day before but I attended Hailey's wedding so we delayed our trip a day.
After arriving, some of my family went to church. It was a tinnnny chapel so we had to split up.  My little family got stuck at the very front of the chapel.    We ended up nodding off.  (Let me remind you that we had been up since three...)  Apparently a lady behind us kept tapping on our pew trying to get us to pay attention but... yeah... Moving on!

Klaus and cousin Jane chillin on the boardwalk.
We took a walk on the boardwalk that evening.  I found that Klaus does not enjoy the ocean breeze.  He had a bit of a rough time.  But we still had fun looking at the ocean and chatting with the family.

My family has a tradition of going to a little restaurant in Fort Bragg called D'Aurelio's.  It is the thing we look forward to most about Mendocino trips.  Since we usually stuff ourselves silly with salad and pizza we take a walk afterwards near the headlands. We only had a few days up there but it was wonderful!

He's such a good uncle.
It's funny, writing all of this down it doesn't seem like we did anything really excited but it's the little things and the family traditions that make my heart full of happiness.  That's one thing I love about my family.  We don't have to be out spending tons of money on expensive trips.  As long as we're together... it's bliss.  We spent a lot of time chatting away at the campground.

We had 5 babies up at camping this year.  It was so fun!  (And in case you were wondering, Klaus spent better camping than he does at home!)

Here are some of my kid favorites:

Till next year Mendocino.
