Crocheted Blankets for Beginners

In January and February, I got on this huge kick of crocheting.  One of my girlfriends talked about crocheting around the edges of a blanket for her little one so I started researching it.

I decided on a chevron pattern and went to town.

I was really pleased with Baby Char's blanket I decided to do another... and then another.
The pattern I used is from StringsWithStyle.  I changed some of the dimensions to fit the blanket size I wanted.  This gal has a great tutorial though.  Even I, a first time crocheter, could do it.

I made another one for my baby niece and was really pleased with the results-- it was hard to let it go.

Of course its not fair because Baby J is such a good model. But I am IN LOVE with this quilt.

Lastly, I made a cute plush blanket for my sweet cousin who is having a baby girl soon!

I used the pattern found on KnitCulture and it was even easier than the chevron blankets!

If you think you're hopeless when it comes to crafts start crocheting.  It so fun and gives you something to do when your hubby is being a hard worker and studying in the evenings.  You can curl up next to him and work on your project without interrupting him.  (oh wait, maybe that's just me)

Happy Crocheting!
